Some ranges of new Ideal boilers is not supported by all BCM models.
A free training session is provided to get your engineers up to speed. To book this session, please contact your sales representative.
The boiler ranges that are affected are:
Ideal Combi2
Ideal Heat2
Ideal System2
BCM is compatible with Ideal 2 boilers, however only the following models:
Not compatible
With Ideal2 interface add-in board
BCM-C With Ideal2 interface add-in board
Fully compatible without interface board
Each product has a product code which denotes the version of the product. It is important to correctly identify your product as the installation instructions and datasheets may change between models.
Your product model can be found by locating the serial number sticker on the box or product itself. The serial number will begin with three letters, this is the product code.
The new ranges also require any connected OpenTherm devices to control heating, and will subsequently ignore 230V call for heat thermostats.
This means the BCM will require one of the following thermostat configurations:
An OpenTherm Thermostat can be wired through the BCM to allow full smart control of the heating.
This option will allow the boiler to run in the most efficient way by modulating the temperature, saving money for you or your tenants.
A Call for Heat thermostat can be wired into the BCM to control the heating. However, the thermostat must be capable of operating in a volt-free configuration.
Note: Ensure that 230V is not connected to the low voltage connections of the BCM.
The Ideal2 interface board has connections to take a 230V input from a call for heat thermostat and allow it to work with the BCM to control the heating.
Please get in touch if you wish to explore this option.
